Steel Coils

Why We Often Recommend Coil Support Systems
We understand the growing shift toward foam mattresses and recognize there are applications where foam may be the right fit. However, for long-term dormitory and high-use housing settings, we often recommend coil support systems because of their:
- Long-term structural support
- Improved airflow and cooler sleep
- Reduced body impressions
- Stronger edge support
- Durability in high-use environments
- Consistent comfort over time
- Longer useful lifespan
What makes us different
Net
We place a support netting layer over the coils to help prevent the foam from settling into the coil system over time. While simple and inexpensive, this added layer is highly effective in extending the life of the mattress and helping maintain a more even, flat sleeping surface.
Individual Coils
We use coils (right picture) that are individual and able to respond independently, rather than a continuous coil system (left picture) where all coils are connected together. This allows for more flexible support, reduced motion transfer, and better contouring to the body.

Clipped Borders
The reinforced edge adds more support to the coil and aids in a supportive night’s sleep, free of that roll-off feeling.

Pretreated Wire
Stress-relieved wire is a manufacturing process used in high-quality mattress innersprings to improve durability and consistency. This process helps the wire maintain its shape and structural integrity, reducing sagging and helping the mattress hold its support over time.

Our Steel Coil Mattresses
The Saturn mattress is built using our traditional steel coil support system. We use a Bonnell coil, an interconnected steel coil design that provides strong, durable support across the entire mattress. The coil unit contains 336 coils in a full-size mattress, creating a sturdy support system designed for long-lasting performance.
Saturn Firm
The Saturn Firm is built with a support net layer, 1" of low-density foam for comfort, and your choice of either a quilted cover or a waterproof nylon cover. The Saturn Firm is available in both flip and no-flip versions, allowing customers to choose between a traditional two-sided mattress designed for extended longevity or a one-sided option that offers a firmer feel and a more budget-friendly price point.

Saturn Plush
The Saturn Plush is designed with a softer feel by adding 3/4" of high-density foam for additional comfort, along with an insulator pad designed to help offset body impressions and promote more even wear over time. The mattress is finished with your choice of either a quilted cover or a waterproof nylon cover and is available in both flip and no-flip versions.
