Pocket Coils
Our Shooting Star Pocket Coil is one of our most popular support systems for industrial and high-use environments because it combines durability, comfort, and motion reduction in a practical design. Each coil is individually fabric wrapped, allowing the coils to respond independently to pressure instead of moving as one connected unit. This helps reduce motion transfer, improve weight distribution, and create a more even sleeping surface over time.
The Shooting Star uses 660 individually wrapped coils in a full-size mattress, providing consistent support with better contouring than a traditional interconnected coil system. Because the coils can move independently, the mattress is able to respond to different body shapes and sleeping positions while still maintaining strong structural support for long-term use. The fabric-wrapped design also helps reduce noise and minimizes the wear that can occur when metal coils rub together.
Benefits of a pocket coil
Cooler
Pocket coil systems allow for continuous airflow through the mattress, helping heat move away from the sleeper instead of becoming trapped inside layers of foam. Unlike foam, which is a closed-cell material that tends to retain heat, innerspring systems are open to the air and naturally sleep cooler. Studies have shown that innerspring mattresses can transfer heat more efficiently than all-foam designs, helping create a cooler and more comfortable sleeping environment.
Durability
Durability is one of the biggest advantages of a quality innerspring system. Low-density foams can break down over time and lead to body impressions, while pocket coil systems are designed to provide more consistent support and maintain their feel longer. Comfort starts with proper support. Pocket coil systems with responsive support technology are designed to contour to the body while still maintaining spinal alignment. Unlike materials that allow excessive sinking, individually responsive coils help distribute weight evenly and provide targeted support, allowing muscles to relax and promoting a more comfortable, restful sleep.
Motion Transfer
Because Each coil moves independently, movement on one side of the mattress is less likely to transfer across the bed. This helps reduce partner disturbance and creates a more stable, undisturbed sleeping surface.

What sets our mattresses apart is the quality of the support system and the materials we choose to use. Our Shooting Star pocket coil features the Caliber Edge® coil system from Leggett & Platt, part of the ActivEdge® line designed to provide durable support all the way to the edge without relying on thick foam encasements that can break down over time. Instead, the perimeter is reinforced with tempered-steel edge coils, creating a stronger, more consistent sleeping surface.
We also use pre-compressed, stress-relieved steel coils that are designed to better maintain their shape and responsiveness over time. Each coil moves independently to reduce motion transfer, improve weight distribution, and help prevent sleepers from rolling together. In addition, we place an insulator pad over every pocket coil unit to help offset potential body impressions and promote a flatter, more even sleeping surface throughout the life of the mattress.
By focusing on advanced coil technology instead of relying heavily on foam, our mattresses are designed to provide better airflow, stronger support, improved durability, and more consistent comfort for long-term use.
Our Pocket Coil Mattresses
The Shooting Star Firm is designed to provide durable, consistent support with a firmer feel for long-term use. It features our Shooting Star pocket coil support system paired with 1" of low-density foam for comfort, an insulator pad to help offset body impressions and promote even wear, and a durable wet-proof cover for added protection.
The mattress is available in both a flip and no-flip design, allowing customers to choose between a traditional two-sided mattress for extended longevity or a one-sided option that offers a firmer feel and a more budget-friendly price point.
The Shooting Star Plush is designed to provide a softer, more comfortable feel while still maintaining the durable support of our Shooting Star pocket coil system. It features ¾" of soft high-density foam for added pressure relief and contouring comfort, along with ½" of firmer low-density foam to help maintain support and structure. An insulator pad is added to help offset body impressions and promote more even wear over time.
The mattress is finished with a durable wet-proof cover and is available in both flip and no-flip versions, giving customers the option of a traditional two-sided mattress for extended longevity or a one-sided design for convenience and value.
